RECREATE is proud to announce that Ines Sma, PhD student at CNRS/PIMM, has been awarded the Best Student Poster Award at the 9th International Conference on Laser Peening and Related Phenomena (ICLPRP 2025), held in Prague, Czech Republic, from 28 September to 3 October 2025.
The conference, hosted by the HiLASE Centre – FZU, Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, brought together leading experts in laser materials processing and related technologies.
Ines’s award-winning poster, titled
👉 “In-Situ Control of Laminated Composite Dismantling by Laser Shock for Reuse Using Structural Health Monitoring”,
presents groundbreaking research from the RECREATE project on the disassembly and reuse of laminated composites using laser shock techniques.
Her work demonstrates the potential of laser shock not only to separate composite layers effectively, but also to preserve and even enhance the structural and mechanical integrity of the materials paving the way for more sustainable reuse of high-performance composites.
This recognition follows Ines’s previous awards in advancing circular economy solutions through innovative material reuse strategies.
To read more about this research refer to recent article posted by Ines and her team titled Laser Shock Dismantling: Enabling Composites Reuse and Preserving Performance.
👏 Congratulations to Ines for this outstanding achievement and for representing RECREATE on the international stage!
