The RECREATE initiative is delighted to announce that several of its partners, namely EDAG Group, INVENT GmbH, Fraunhofer IWU, and Applus+ Rescoll — have been recognised with 1st place in the “Research and Science” category at the AVK Innovation Awards 2025, presented during the JEC Forum DACH in Dresden.
Their award-winning project, “Durable and detachable composite structures for the circular economy” (Langlebige und lösbare Faserverbundstrukturen für die Kreislaufwirtschaft), demonstrates a pioneering approach to designing durable and detachable composite structures that support reuse, repair and recycling.
This innovation represents one of RECREATE’s Key Exploitable Results and the team is working on developing a sustainable business model around it.
This recognition underlines the impact of collaborative research and cross-industry partnerships within RECREATE, driving forward practical solutions for sustainable materials and processes.
We congratulate EDAG, INVENT, Fraunhofer IWU, and Applus+ Rescoll for their visionary work and extend our thanks to all AVK participants for pushing the boundaries of innovation in the composites sector.
First chance to learn more about this and other RECREATE solutions is to attend the first RECREATE Webinar titled: From Composite Materials Waste to Value on Wednesday, 30th October 2025 at 16.00 via Zoom. During the webinar Stefan Caba, Head of Innovation Field Sustainable Vehicle Development at EDAG Group, will present the award winning innovative service offering RECREATE project solutions, combining detachable adhesives and circular product design enabling development of durable vehicles with reusable components.
